Frank J. Sakasitz, 79, formerly of Coplay passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Born July 9, 1937 in Upper Nazareth Township, he was the son of the late Frank P. and Emma (Derkits) Sakasitz.
After honorably serving his country in the Army, Frank proudly worked as a lineman and supervisor for PPL until he retired in 1995. Frank was a member of Queenship of Mary Church, Northampton. He was a great outdoorsman and avid hunter. Frank enjoyed having coffee with fellow retirees from PPL. During his retirement, he volunteered on a horse farm dedicated to helping children with special needs enjoying horseback riding. He was a wonderful grandfather who adored his "buddies," and they will forever hold a special place in their hearts for him.
Survivors: daughters, Christina, wife of Ralph Brodt, III, Monica Sakasitz and Melissa, wife of Dan Fischl; grandchildren, Elizabeth, wife of Peter Zimmer, Sarah, wife of Jacob Howell, Cassidy and Joseph Fischl; sisters, Peggy Sakasitz and Kathleen, wife of John Rechtor; brother, William Sakasitz and wife Kathy. Frank was predeceased by sisters, Emma Eck and Patricia Shook.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 26th at 10:30 a.m. in Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Tuesday 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday 9 - 10:00 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Catasauqua.
