Edward F. Kimak, 92, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Dorothy S. (Smolick), with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Born March 31, 1931, in Treichlers, he was a son of the late Michael and Helen (Parlowe) Kimak. Edward was a steamfitter with the UA Local Union 420, Philadelphia, for over 40 years. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy and was a life member of the Catholic War Vets Post 454. He was also active with the Knights of Columbus Allentown Council 528. Edward was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.
Survivors: daughters, Stephanie Borger and her husband, Gary, Mary Ann Pitts and husband, Theodore, and Paula Sheehan; son, Edward P. and wife, Lois; grandchildren, Benjamin, Timothy, Leah, Tyler, Thaddeus, Marcus, Rachel, Emily, and Jack; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Kimak-Hartman, son, Matthew, grandson, Edward, granddaughter, Faun, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 12th at 10:00 a.m. in Assumption BVM Church, 22nd & Washington Ave., Northampton. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Andrew's Cemetery, N. Catasauqua. Arrangements are under the direction of Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton. Online condolences may be offered below.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to the Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in loving memory of Edward.
