Dorothy T.
O'Boyle
Jan 16, 1937 — May 25, 2022
Dorothy T. O'Boyle, 85, of East Allen Township, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family. Born on January 16, 1937, in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Concetta (Santoro) Tallarico. She was a 1955 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School and she worked for Western Electric for a number of years as a vacuum tube assembly technician. She met her husband Jack (John) there and were married shortly afterwards. Dorothy and her husband, Jack, recently celebrated 60 years of marriage together. She worked in various retail positions culminating in the proprietorship of Omega Fashions, in Bethlehem and Quakertown, PA. She was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church. All who knew Dorothy considered her an artisan. She studied photography at Northampton County Community College. Dorothy enjoyed art and loved to complete projects, especially for her children and grandchildren. She was an expert in drawing, ceramics, shadow portraits, needle and cross point and diamond bead painting. She even tried her hand at wood carving. She would have told you that the thing she did the best and enjoyed the most was being a wife, a mother to her children and grandmother to her grandchildren.
Survivors: In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by her sons, John and wife, Sharon, Timothy and wife, Linda; daughters, Elizabeth Cissel and husband, John, Rebecca O'Boyle; grandchildren, Brenna O'Boyle, Courtney Cissel, Mary Elizabeth Cissel; and a brother, Robert Tallarico. A sister, Roman Catholic Sister Rose Concetta, and a brother, Joseph, preceded Dorothy in death.
Services: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24th at 11:00 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Family and friends may gather Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
