Donna M. Hopper, 61, of Northampton, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Across her lifespan, she impacted many people in an extraordinary way. She was the loving wife of Martin R. Hopper; they would have celebrated 36 years of marriage on October 28th. Born August 25, 1963, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Dale F. and Joanne R. (Bokosky) Riedy. Donna was a 1981 graduate of Northampton Area High School and a 1985 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University earning her bachelor's degree in education. Donna was a teacher at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Elementary School for 28 years and was honored to serve as principal for the last five years. Donna took much pride in the development of her students and truly lived by "our children are the future." She influenced many of her students to become teachers and continue her legacy. She had much love and cherished all the faculty, students, and the family members of Notre Dame.

In addition to her husband, Marty, Donna is survived by her daughter, Jenna Hess (Zachary); granddaughter, Meredith Joan Hess; sister, Jennifer Shupp (Michael) and their daughters, Brittney and Courtney; brothers, Dale Riedy (Mary)and John Riedy (Cynthia); nieces and nephews; and pet dog, Finn. Donna was ecstatic to become a grandmother and showed her granddaughter an enormous amount of love. She viewed her nieces and nephews as her children and spoiled them with love and generosity. Everyone who knew Donna would describe her as unconditionally loving, a strong faithful servant of God, endlessly giving, and truly one of a kind. Donna's vibrancy and love of life will live on through her family and all those she impacted.

Services: Family and friends are invited for an open casket viewing on Friday, September 20th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, with a closed casket gathering prior to Mass from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. The family request that you wear all shades of blue in loving memory of Donna.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be presented to Notre Dame of Bethlehem School that will be applied to the Donna M. Hopper Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be offered below.
