Obituary

Diane I. Szerencsits, 84 of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 in her home. Born on August 30, 1939 in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Mae (Lindenmoyer) Suranofsky. Diane and her husband, Joseph celebrated 60 years of marriage together. She was employed in the elder care industry, working for various institutions and later was a reading lady at Our Lady of Hungary School for several years. She was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church in Northampton. Diane was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Women's Guild and enjoyed volunteering for the local food bank.

Survivors: In addition to her husband, Diane is survived by sons, David, Joseph and wife Catherine, Matthew and wife Colleen; grandchildren, Lauren, Joseph IV, Andrew, Ethan, Olivia, Siobhan, Ciara; a great grandson, Owen and many nieces and nephews. Diane was one of four sets of twins. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Milton, Marianne, Frank, Franklin, Donald, Jacqueline, Jack, Martin, Elizabeth, Rita, Dennis, Peter and Larry.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 23rd at 10:30 a.m. in Assumption BVM Catholic Church, 2181 Washington Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St. Northampton. Interment will be in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the church in loving memory of Diane.
