Diane L. Cesanek, 73, of Allen Township, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 29, 2026. Born March 3, 1953, in Nazareth, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Mildred (Muschlitz) Silfies. She and her husband, Bernard, shared 53 years of marriage. In her early years Diane worked at Newhart Foods, Coplay and Cross Country Clothing, Northampton. Before retiring, Diane worked as a secretary for Blue Cross Blue Shield for more than 20 years. She was a member of Assumption BVM Catholic Church in Northampton. Diane loved crocheting and baking but she loved her family more than anything in the world. Diane made people smile with her kindness and thoughtful gestures. She brought out the best in people. Her happiest moments were when her family was together. Vacationing with her family, attending her grandson's sporting events, and simple family dinners, she cherished every moment. She was so proud of her children, her grandsons, and the family that her and Bernie created together.
Survivors: Along with her husband, Diane is survived and loved by her daughter, Jeanette Cesanek-Narscio, and her husband, Charles; her son, Dr. Paul Cesanek, and his wife, Kelly; her grandchildren, Zackary and fiancé Emmalee Maikits, Mitchell, Mason and Miles; her brother, Timothy Silfies, and his wife, Heather; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 7th, at 10:00 a.m. at the church, 2181 Washington Ave., Northampton, followed by interment in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may gather on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. at the church. Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton, is handling the arrangements. Online condolences may be shared below.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church in Diane’s memory.
