Constance B.
Kovacs
Dec 5, 1938 — Dec 6, 2022
Constance B. Kovacs, 84, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully from pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in Sacred Heart Senior Living, Center Valley. Born December 5, 1938, in Coaldale, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Stianche) Pisklak. She was the loving wife of James E. Kovacs for 59 years, until his passing in 2018. Connie's legacy is love - for family, faith, and home. Following her graduation from Summit Hill High School, Connie chose a life of service to others. She completed the nursing program at Sacred Heart School of Nursing and served as an RN with several Lehigh Valley hospitals and private practices. She was a devout member of Assumption BVM Catholic Church in Northampton, the Young at Heart group, and the Greeter Committee. She and Jim served their community for many years as volunteers with Meals on Wheels. Connie was an accomplished homemaker, cook, baker, and hostess. She and Jim hosted innumerable holiday gatherings and parties, creating a lifetime of happy memories for family and friends. In fact, it wasn't Christmas without Connie's homemade mushroom soup and nut roll! Connie and Jim travelled extensively in their retirement years and their travel companions became lifelong friends. Connie enjoyed needlework, knitting, crossword puzzles, word searches, and playing mah-jong and cards with "the Ladies."
Connie is survived by her daughter Ann Bertsch and husband Timothy; sons David Kovacs and wife Lisa, and Robert Kovacs; sisters Elizabeth Dickman, Ann Marie Lill (George), Marylin Pisklak; and brother, John Pisklak (Tambria); grandchildren Michael and Nicholas Bertsch, Nicole Souders, Amanda Schmidt, Emily Farris, and Kelsey and Ryan Kovacs; and great-grandchildren Hailey, Aiden, Jude, Michael, and Nolan. She was predeceased by brother-in-law John Dickman and daughter-in-law Colleen Kovacs.
Services: A Memorial Mass will be held on January 14 at 10:30AM in Assumption BVM Church, Northampton. Family and friends may gather 9:30 – 10:30 in the church.
