Obituary

Clara (Miletics) Burger, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in hospice care at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest. She was 87 years old. Clara was the wife of the late Bruce Burger. Together they enjoyed nearly 65 years of marriage before his death in 2021. A graduate of Northampton High School, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anita (Bayda) Miletics. Clara worked at Levitz Furniture in Whitehall for 25 years. She was a member of Queenship of Mary in Northampton, and very active in her church; volunteering in the cafeteria at Our Lady of Hungary school while also serving as a lector. Clara loved being around her family. She raised five boys and was a big supporter of their sports and activities. Clara enjoyed watching all types of sports and was a dedicated fan of the Phillies, Eagles, Penn State, and the Konkrete Kids. She and Bruce also attended Iron Pigs games. In addition to her love of sports, Clara enjoyed going to the casino, vacationing in Ocean City, MD and traveling on many bus trips. She was a member of the Friendly Fifties and most recently a resident of Sacred Heart Living Center in Northampton where she enjoyed playing Bingo and other activities. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Clara is survived by her five sons: Rick (Maureen) of Northampton, Tim (Joanne) of Northampton, Jack (Ann) of Bath, Bronson (Steph) of Bethlehem, and Randy (Annette) of Whitehall; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Anita (Gene) Lucky of Denver, PA; two brothers, Dennis (Karen) Miletics and Jerry (Carol) Miletics both of Northampton; and sister-in-law, Dawn (Burger) Cirocco. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 24th at 10:30 a.m. in Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Wednesday 9:00 – 10:15 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Parish Cemetery.
