Obituary

Catherine Tapler, 100, of Northampton, passed away peacefully at Sacred Heart Senior Living on Saturday, November 12, 2022. She was married for 52 years to the late Louis Tapler, who died December 1, 1996. Born October 12, 1922, in Buffalo, New York, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Catherine (Youngkoski) Gaczor. She worked as a presser at Regal Sportswear in Northampton. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Her family always came first and was her happiest being with them. She was the families' caregiver; nothing was too much for her loved ones. She had a strong devotion to prayer and faith in God. She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.

Survivors: son, Thomas Tapler and wife, Sandy; daughter, Kathryn Hassler and husband, Bruce; grandson, Tommy Tapler; step-granddaughters, Jennifer Mireles, Hollie Albert; step-grandson, Randy Hassler; 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson; and a sister, Wanda Erdosy. She was predeceased by sisters, Helen Sodl, Irene Sheckler, Jean Kotrosits; and a brother, Stanley Gaczor. The family would like to thank Family Pillars Hospice, her many care givers, and the staff at Sacred Heart Senior Living for the wonderful care given to Catherine.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 17 th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter R.C. Church, 4 S. 5 th St., Coplay. Family and friends may call Thursday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton.

Contributions may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church, Coplay or Family Pillars Hospice, 3910 Adler Place, Suite 130, Bethlehem, PA 18017 in memory of Catherine. Online condolences may be offered below.
