Catherine Lutes, 75, of Whitehall, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023, in The Gardens of Easton Nursing Home. Born on April 30, 1947, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Harold H. and Helen M. (Busits) Bushspies. She was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School class of 1965 and Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia. While in college, Catherine worked as a clerk at the West Point Military Academy and the Fairfax County Courthouse. Upon graduation, she became a teacher at General Robert E. Lee School in Virginia. She later worked as a library assistant in the government documents section of the Virginia Commonwealth University and as the assistant to the director of the Master of Business Administration at Florida International University. Upon retirement, she returned to PA to be with her family. Catherine was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay, where she served as a choir member for several years.
Survivors: sister, Constance Faryna; brother, Harry; nieces, Jenna, Anastasia; nephew, R.J.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 23 rd at 10:30 a.m. in the church, 4 So. 5 th St., Coplay. Family and friends may call on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampton.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church in loving memory of Catherine. Online condolences may be offered below.
