Obituary

Catherine P. Janders, 96, of Whitehall, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022, in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. Born on September 25, 1925, in Egypt, PA, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Tekla (Klem) Tornitsky. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joseph, in 2010. She was employed as a sewing machine operator at the former Cross Country Clothes for many years. Catherine was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Whitehall, where she volunteered with the church's food drives for a number of years.

Survivors: Catherine is survived by her son, David and wife, Trish; daughters, Kathleen Heidel, Nanette Stanko and husband, Al; grandchildren, Brett, Burt, Brad and Josephine; great-grandchildren, Rowen, Rowan and Willow; sisters, Jeanette Koval and Irene Schlegel; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Catherine is preceded in death by granddaughter, Brooke, brothers, Michael and Johnny, and sisters, Ann, Stella, and Mary.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 30 th at 10:30 a.m. in the church, 4102 S. Church St., Whitehall. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampton. Arrangements are under the direction of the Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton. Online condolences may be offered below.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the church in loving memory of Catherine.
