Carol H. Steier, 76, of Emmaus, formerly of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025, in Phoebe Nursing Home, Allentown. Born on April 6, 1948, in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Helen (Guzara) Swankoski. Carol and her husband, Frank, celebrated 56 years of marriage together. Carol was a 1966 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School. She was professionally employed as a medical receptionist for Surgical Associates and Fairground Surgical Center for many years. In addition, she was employed at GAC and The Children's Place. She was a faithful member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church in Northampton. Carol loved to travel, namely to Aruba, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach. She enjoyed going to the casino with Frank, watching Hallmark movies and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Her 9 grandchildren were everything to her, she loved them dearly and was so proud of them.
In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by children, Vincent Steier, Kristin Lubinski and husband, Stuart, Nicholas and wife, Kelly Steier; 9 grandchildren, Jacob, Hannah, Emily, Hailey, Hutton, Noah, Braelin, Camden, Carter Caroline; siblings, Ann Donaldson (late Richard), Mary Susan Gabryluk (Bernard), John Swankoski (Jayne Seier), Eileen Stein (Robert); sister-in-law, Barbara Swankoski; and many nieces and nephews. Brother, David Swankoski, preceded Carol in death.
Services: Family and friends may call on Friday, January 10th from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Whitehall.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the church in loving memory of Carol. Online condolences may be offered below.
