Bernard "Buddy" Rusiewicz, 94, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. He was the husband of the late Alverta "Woo" (Lapachak), who passed away in June 2023. Born July 12, 1930, in Shenandoah, he was the son of the late Bernard and Mary (Mazurkiewicz) Rusiewicz. Buddy worked at Durkee Foods for 38 years. He also was a parttime police officer with the Northampton Borough Police Dept. He honorable served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Northampton VFW Post 4714 and American Legion Post 355. Buddy was a life member of the Alliance Fire Company. He was a member and pierogie volunteer at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church.

Survivors: his cousins and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Buddy was predeceased by his son, Peter D.

Services: A Divine Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 13th at 1:00 p.m. in the church, 1343 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call on Wednesday afternoon from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. in the church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in loving memory of Buddy. Online condolences may be offered below.
