Anthony J. "Tony" Reinish, 98 of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 20, 2021 in Phoebe Home, Allentown. Born on May 3, 1922 in Kormend, Hungary, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Gaal) Reinish. Tony and his wife, Hedwig "Hattie" (Horvath) celebrated 73 years of marriage together. Tony was employed as a machinist for Bethlehem Steel for 41 years until his retirement in 1980. He honorably served our country in the US Navy during WWII and had memberships, and supported various veteran groups including the Catholic War Veterans, American Legion and Northampton VFW. Tony was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church in Northampton where he served as a lector and past president of the Holy Name Society. He also was a member of the Men of Malvern, 4 th Degree Knights of Columbus #528 Council in Allentown, served as past president of PSA, served on the board of directors for at the Northampton Community Center for 30 years and served on the Northampton Borough Council for 14 years. He was an avid golfer, enjoying many weekly rounds at Willow Brook Golf Course.
Survivors: In addition to his wife, Tony is survived by his daughters, Pamela Yost and husband Robert, Antoinette Long and husband James; grandchildren, Jason Yost, Jeremy Kressly, Jaime Kressly, Victoria Long; great-granddaughter, Kayla Kressly; sister, Margaret Reid and several nieces and nephews. Sisters, Mary Jansen, Helen Reinish, Anna Reinish and brothers, Frank and Joseph Reinish preceded Tony in death.
Services: Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 29 th at 11:45 a.m. in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampton. Arrangements are under the direction of the Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton. Online condolences may be offered below.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church or a charity of one's choice, in loving memory of Tony.
