Anna M.
Miksits
Nov 4, 1934 — Aug 23, 2023
Anna M. (Gober) Miksits, 88, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. She was the wife of the late Edward A. Miksits, who passed away on March 10, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Rudolph P. and Anna (Szupper) Gober. She was born in Northampton, PA. She was a graduate of Northampton High School and was a member of the Tri-Hi-Y for three years, a member of the amptennian staff for three years, and was the secretary of the junior class. While in school, she worked part-time at the former Lerners Department Store as a secretary and salesclerk. Upon graduation, she was employed as a secretary for General Supply Lumber Co. in Coplay, PA for many years and retired as a part-time bank teller from Cement National Bank. She was of the catholic faith and attended Mass regularly at Queenship of Mary Church as a long-time member. She also was a member of the former Friendly Fifties in Northampton. She enjoyed a "clean" house with a "friendly" atmosphere with many a good discussion at the kitchen table. She enjoyed listening to and dancing to polkas and waltzes. She enjoyed vacations, her favorite being to Hawaii celebrating with her husband their 25th wedding anniversary. An occasional trip to the casino also relaxed the tension.
Anna is survived by immediate family: sister, Theresa Melosky and husband, Andrew; niece, Lisa Basile and husband, Michael; nephews, Rick Melosky and wife, Linda, Michael Melosky and wife, Kim, and Rob Melosky and wife, Meghan; and many nieces and nephews, who she all loved.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 30th at 10:30 a.m. in Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass in the church. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery.
