"Ginger" Seier

Anna L. "Ginger" (Csencsits) Seier, 92, formally of Northampton and presently of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Born on May 12, 1929, she was a daughter of the late John D. and Mary D. (Rauer) Csencsitz. Ginger was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1990. She was a former member of Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church in Northampton and a current member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall. Ginger was a member of St. John's Altar and Rosary Society and actively volunteered as part of the St. John's pierogie gang, the school library and bingo programs. She was also an active volunteer for many years at the Ecumenical Soup Kitchen in Allentown associated with St. Nicholas Church in Berlinsville. A 1947 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School, Ginger was a member of her class's reunion committee for many years. She was an avid sewer, often making her own clothes and home furnishings, and she had the distinct privilege of sewing the Baptismal garments for St. John's Church. In the past, Ginger enjoyed bowling at St. Joe's and the American Club, waitressing at the West Coplay Maennerchor and for private events. She was a member of the American Club's Dolly Madisons during our country's bicentennial.
Survivors: Ginger is survived by her sons, Robert Seier and wife, Kathy, David Seier and wife, Ann Marie; grandchildren, Rose Medina, Alexander Barnas; great-grandchildren, Alivia and Lyla; and numerous nieces and nephews. Brothers, John, Stephen, Joseph, Frank, Louis, and sisters, Theresa and Mary, preceded Ginger in death.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 28th at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 3024 S. Ruch St., Whitehall. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until time of service in the church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church or Good Shepherd Catholic School, 1300 Newport Ave., Northampton in loving memory of Ginger.
