Angela T. "Tootie" O'Mara, of Whitehall Township, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021. She was the wife of the late Francis O'Mara with whom she shared 58 years of loving marriage. Born in Stiles, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Josephine (Shriner) Knauss. She was employed for many years at the former Barney's Diner. Angela was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Stiles, as well as its Altar Rosary Society.
Survivors include sisters-in-law, Margaret O'Donnell and husband, Charles, Patricia Lobus and husband, Ronald, and Dolores O'Mara, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Erna, Erica Leitgeb, Margaret Hanner, and Helen Cassidy.
Tootie was a role model for many by demonstrating true generosity and support for others in her life. She was a life-long gardener, and enjoyed travel and the casino. Most of all, she enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends, often captivating them with her charismatic storytelling. Tootie was blessed with the love of her life, husband Francis, by her side for many years. She will be deeply missed.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sat., August 28 th at 10:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 3024 S. Ruch St., Whitehall. Family and friends may gather Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church in loving memory of Angela. Online condolences may be offered below.
