Alverta Rusiewicz, 87, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2023, at Fellowship Community, Whitehall. Alverta and her husband, Bernard "Buddy," celebrated 68 years of marriage on June 23rd. She was born on January 17, 1936, in Northampton. Alverta worked as a clerk at Two Guys Department Store and Laneco for many years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. Alverta was also active with the Alliance Fire Hall Ladies Auxiliary and the Northampton Ambulance Corp.

In addition to her husband, Alverta is survived by her cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her son, Peter D., and mother, Anna (Lopatchak) Briglia.

Services: A Divine Liturgy will be held on Friday, June 30th at 10:30 a.m. in the church, 1343 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in loving memory of Alverta. Online condolences may be offered below.
