Obituary

Alois J. Recker, 88, of Coplay, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at home. Born August 24, 1936, in Northampton, he was the son of the late Alois V. and Mary (Schrantz) Recker. Alois honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a reporter at the former Bethlehem Globe and the Northampton Press for many years. He volunteered as a coach at Christ the King School for the boys 5th and 6th grade basketball team for over 20 years. Alois was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.

Survivors: son, Matthew and wife, Nicole; grandchildren Kayden, Sophie, Izabella; sister, Carol Correia and husband, Joseph; niece Donna Wood and husband Mark; nephew Al and wife Juliann, several other nieces and nephews and his loving dog, Lulu. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Reichl and Anna Edelman.

Services: Family and friends may call on Tuesday, June 24th from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 4 So. 5th St., Coplay. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.  Online condolences may be offered below.
