Alois H. Pany, 97, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2024, in Sacred Heart Senior Living, Northampton. Born on June 21, 1926, in Northampton, he was a son of the late Ignatz and Elizabeth (Garger) Pany. Alois was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Pidstawski). He was employed as a tool and dye maker at Lucent Technologies for 35 years. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Alois was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church in Northampton. In addition, he was a member of Lucent Pioneers, Alliance Fire Co., Northampton Liederkranz, and the Northampton VFW Post 4714.
Survivors: Alois is lovingly survived by his daughters, Lois M. Favier and husband, William; Candace Steffie and companion, Michael Nesgoda; grandchildren, Jamie Steffie and wife, Lora, Larissa Favier, Tara Steffie-Karol and husband, Mike, Brianne Favier, Garrett Favier and wife, Casey; great-grandchildren, Connor, Cole, Calysta, Jackson, Alison, Micah; brothers, Sylvester and Alfred; sister, Hilda Pany; and several nieces and nephews. Alois was predeceased by son-in-law, Joseph, and 10 siblings.
Services: Family and friends may call on Monday May 13 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton followed by interment with military honors in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Penn Medicine and mailed to Penn Medicine Development and Alumni Relations, 3535 Market St., Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104 in loving memory of Alois.
