Alfred A. (Skeeter) Nederostek, 88, of Whitehall passed away peacefully on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Stephanie (Hewko) Nederostek. Born October 14, 1928, he was the son of the late August and Elsie (Kurtz) Nederostek.
Skeeter worked for the Public Works Department in Whitehall Township. He was also a bartender at Laurel Hotel for many years. He was a lifelong member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Northampton. Skeeter was a life member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Fullerton Fire Co. # 1 and the Alliance Volunteer Fire Company in Northampton.
Survivors: stepsons, Frank Ziegler and Mark Ziegler and his wife, Sandra; stepdaughter, Catherine, wife of Ron Shollenberger; grandchildren, Amber, Zachary, Eddie Lewis, Jason Ziegler and Sarah Ziegler; brother, Richard; nephews and nieces, Jeff, Rita, Sharon, Richie, Dennis and Brian. Alfred was predeceased by niece, Cindy, a brother and two sisters.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 16th at 10:00 am in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church 22nd and Washington Ave. Northampton. Family and friends may call Wednesday 8:00 - 9:15 am in the Reichel Funeral Home 326 E. 21st ST. Northampton. Burial will follow in the BVM Parish Cemetery.
